W.C. and Reba Whitecotton moved from Amarillo, Texas, to Elkhart, Kansas, in 1956 after purchasing the Elkhart Telephone Company. After meeting Bob Boaldin, Curtis (W.C.) saw it fitting and introduced his daughter Dian to Bob during his one semester at Panhandle State University. Bob and Dian married in 1958 and Bobby continued farming wheat and milo and began working for Curtis at Elkhart Telephone Company. They had one daughter and two sons, Roxanna, Travis, and Trent. In 1964, Bobby (Bob) began his life-long, 51-year career in the telecommunications industry. Bob served on a myriad of state and national committees and boards to protect the organization and advancement of rural telephone companies, strategizing for rural life in America, and EPICTOUCH. Bob was Morton County Commissioner for 28 years. His resignation and retirement was accepted by all “With gratitude for your contributions to your industry and continuing commitment to your customers, community, and county." Bob passed away of Alzheimers in January 2017.
Meet Trent
Trent earned a B.S. degree in Electronics Engineering Technology at DeVry Institute in Arizona. After returning to Elkhart, he worked for EPICTOUCH and served in national communications offices, boards, and committees in Washington DC. In 2011, Trent received a Law Degree from Oklahoma City University and established an office for Boaldin Law. In January 2017, Trent became the CEO of EPICTOUCH at its Kansas locations in Elkhart and Liberal. Trent worked hard on the 2019 acquisition of CP-TEL in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Trent passed away on January 7, 2020, in Oklahoma City, after a brief battle with leukemia. Trent had two daughters, Hillari who passed away in 2005, and Victoria. He has 1 granddaughter, Ella.
Meet Travis
Travis attended Dodge City Community after graduating from Elkhart High School in 1977. In 1981, Travis began working in the accounting department at Elkhart Telephone Company and continued working there as it expanded operations becoming EPICTOUCH. Travis’ grandpa, Curtis Whitecotton, taught him how to play golf while he was still a teenager, and he enjoyed the game throughout his life. Travis passed away in 2004. He had two daughters, Ashley, Brittney, and one son, Blain, who passed away in 2019. He has 3 grandchildren, Karter, Wyatt, and Luna.
